Chow Chow -
ancient breed from China used for hunting, guarding, cart pulling and as a food source. Advocates of the breed stress lots of early socialization and training and caution never to tease or chain this willful, dominant and sometimes aggressive breed. Several solid colors, smooth or rough coated, 50-70 lbs. with their trademark blue/black tongue.

Doberman (Doberman Pinscher) -
modern German breed created for military/police work and as a protection animal. Breeds that make up the Doberman are mostly unknown for certain but thought to be the extinct German Shepherd, the German Pinscher and the Rottweiler, with Black and Tan Manchester Terrier and the black English Greyhound added later to improve the look of the breed. Early breeding criteria of bravery, loyalty, intelligence and toughness produced a breed aggressive with other dogs and distrustful of strangers. Dominant and naturally protective, they need early socialization and training and an experienced owner. Dog aggression is accepted by the AKC as part of the breed standard. Several color patterns, 65-85 lbs.

Rottweiler -
massive guard dog descending from the Italian Mastiff, once used as a cart dog and herding dog. Naturally protective and dominant, requires a strong owner and early training and socialization. Dog aggression is accepted by the AKC as part of the breed standard. Black and rust with distinctive markings, 85-130 lbs.
