Dogo Argentino (Argentinian Mastiff) -
the teenage dream of Dr. Antonio Nores Martinez, a man raised around dog and cock fighting, who wished to create the ultimate hunting dog. It became the family business, some family members being doctors and having a good understanding of genetics. Old Fighting Dog of Cordoba was primarily used, mixed with Bulldog, Boxer, Great Dane, Great Pyrnees, Bull Terrier, Spanish Mastiff, Irish Wolfhound, Pointer and Dogue de Bordeaux. Result is a fearless, silent hunter that will not give up when hurt. Also used as a guard dog, for police work and dog fighting, making it illegal to own in Britain. Tends to be dog aggressive and dominant. White dogs weighing 80-100 lbs.

Old Fighting Dog of Cordoba -
extremely ferious Argentinian fighting dog created from Bull Terrier, Spanish Mastiff, early Boxer and the old Bulldog of England, also used for hunting large game such as cougars and wild boar. Extinct.

Shin Akita - cross between an Akita and a Tosa Inu

Tosa Inu (Tosa Ken, Japanese Mastiff, Japanese Fighting Dog) -
named for a popular dog fighting area, the Tosa province on the island of Shikoku, the Tosa Inu became the strongest fighting dog of Japan when Eurpoean dogs such as bulldogs and mastiffs were added in the later 1800s. They are the only dogs still fought legally today, although the Japanese dog fight is based on dominating an opponent, a quiet fight taking time and skill, not one ending quickly or with the death of a dog. Tosa Inu are known for strength, a high pain threshold, bravery, and dog aggression. Can also be used as guard dogs or for weight pulling contests. Brown in color, weighing anywhere from 100-200 lbs.
